Personal Statement

Wendy Yu is an Australian creative design and projection artist whose work redefines the intersection of movement, technology, and public space. With a background in choreography and a Masters in Interaction Design, Yu brings a unique perspective to large-scale projection mapping and immersive installations.

Her technical experience in motion tracking and 3D animation, combined with a comprehensive understanding of spatial design, has led to successful collaborations with major brands including Adidas Basketball, where she delivered a multi-site projection campaign for the James Harden Vol. 6 launch. Yu's work has been featured in prominent international light festivals such as BLINK, KINOMURAL, and Illuminate Adelaide, demonstrating her ability to create technically sophisticated and visually compelling experiences at scale.

Recognized with the International Chinese Outstanding Youth Award (2023) and the Think Youth Shanghai Digital Creation Competition excellence award (2022), Yu's practice represents a new wave of artists who seamlessly integrate technology with artistic vision. Her approach to projection as a medium for contemporary storytelling and community engagement has established her as a reliable creative partner for ambitious public art projects.
